1. Log onto https://www.supertracker.usda.gov/default.aspx
2. Create a profile. Include your name, age, gender, physical activity level, height and weight. Then register and create a username and password to access your profile in the future.
3. Set a goal – It can be to lose weight, to maintain current weight, to be more physically active or to follow a healthy, balanced diet, etc.
4. Now you can use the food tracker and physical activity tracker to make progress towards your goals!
5. To use the food tracker:
- Enter all foods (and amounts) eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks throughout the day. The tracker will calculate your total calories, food group targets and provide a nutrient intake report for the day. You can use this to ensure you are staying within your calorie goals and meeting the daily recommend intake for all nutrients.
6. To use the activity tracker:
- Enter all physical activity details for the week (type, duration, days). The tracker will provide a report summarizing your activities and compare it to the physical activity guidelines for Americans. You can use this to track your progress towards your physical activity goals.
